Join the fun on Saturday, October 23 for Trunk or Treat. Decorate your vehicle’s trunk and fill it with new packages of individually wrapped candies and/or small toys. We’ll also give away a beverage and literature about Jehovah and Growing in Faith. Wear a costume if you wish. No devils, please.

Our need is now more urgent than ever. Consider contributing to our LIRS Neighbors in Need: Afghan Allies Fund today. Tens of thousands of our Afghan neighbors are arriving to the U.S. with little more than the clothes on their backs. Your gift will provide essential support for newly arrived families, including emergency medical care, temporary housing, and more.

Is there someone special in your life you’d like to remember or honor? Now is the time to purchase the LSB hymnal. We’d like to order the hymnals by the upcoming Labor Day weekend, to be used for worship planning. You can drop your order form in the offering plate on Sunday, or send it to the office. Cost per hymnal is $26.99. Please make your check payable to Jehovah Lutheran Church and mark “Hymnal” on the memo line. If you have questions or need more information, talk to Pastor Miller, Jehovah’s Music Director Elizabeth Wegner, or call the Jehovah office.

Join us for worship on Sunday, August 8 when an ensemble of twelve accomplished singers from the Twin Cities area, including four from Jehovah Lutheran, will perform movements from Vivaldi’s “Gloria” throughout our service. This sparkling baroque gem is conducted by Ben Wegner and features our own Tim Buendorf at the mighty Van Daalen organ.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
Due to the new information that has come out about the Delta variant of COVID-19 and the ongoing poor air quality, the National Night Out event at Jehovah has been CANCELLED by Church Council and the Pastor. Thank you for volunteering to help and for any work you have already done in preparation.
The Administration Resources Board (ARB) is looking for volunteers to help with Jehovah’s annual National Night Out (NNO) outreach event that will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, August. 3, 2021, on the church property. Here are your opportunities to help Jehovah reach out and serve our community:
- Help set up for the event in the church parking lot;
- Help by donating gently used clothing for all ages, small household items, linens, etc.
- Help sort and set out the clothing and small household items that have been donated for the giveaway;
- Help by donating purchased and packaged food items to be given away as prizes during the raffles throughout the event;
- Help for the loyal Kolar, Wynn and Fishback families and others who take on the food service;
- Help as popcorn makers;
- Help planning a few things for kids to enjoy;
- Help staffing food service, raffle, giveaway and kids area during the event;
- Help with take down and clean up after the event ends at 7:00pm.
Spirit Freed is planning to provide music during the event. We could accommodate another group as we have done in the past. Contact us if you know of a group that might be interested in playing that evening.
To volunteer or if you have a new idea to add to the fun, please contact Marge Avoles at 651–398–8204 or at email@example.com, or talk with any of the other ARB members: Katy Fishback, Mark Kolar, Karl Miesen, Bruce Wegner, and Dan Wynn.
The Church Council, the Board of Lay Ministry, Erica, and and Pastor Miller unanimously and wholeheartedly have decided to end the recorded service and restore congregational singing to our in-person gatherings.
We made this decision on the basis of the current metrics of the COVID-19 pandemic in Minnesota and the extremely high rate of vaccination in our congregation. At this point, nearly 100%! of eligible members (age 12 and older) have been fully vaccinated.
Beginning on Sunday, July 4, we will discontinue the recorded service in its current form. We will offer the Divine Service in-person at 9:30AM. We will record portions of this service in audio form for distribution to our members who are unable to come to services in-person.
During the pandemic, we have all missed singing the hymns of our Christian faith. At this time, as children cannot yet be vaccinated against COVID-19, we are not singing together as a congregation in the sanctuary. As we await vaccination of the youngest brothers and sisters among us, we’re going to do something a little creative.
Please join us on Wednesday, June 16, from 7:00-8:00pm in our church parking lot for a Tailgate Hymn-Sing!
Elizabeth Wegner will lead us in singing from the Lutheran Hymnal. Requests will be taken from the Lutheran Hymnal, so bring your non-alcoholic beverage, your camp chair, and your singing voice. Hymnals will be provided and water will be available.
Contact Pastor with any questions.
