Jehovah Lutheran Church continues to gather clothing and other items for Congolese refugees. The church has so far helped over 100 families with clothing donations.

Congolese refugees have been living in refugee camps for as long as 10 years, and more now are arriving in Minnesota

Donations of bus cards, cleaning supplies, toiletries, detergent and dish soap, dishes, big cooking pots, microwave, used TV or radio and clothing are urgently needed, says the Rev. Justin Byakweli, executive director of CEEDS USA (Center for Employment and Education Development Services), a group founded in 2011 to help refugees.

COLD WEATHER Heightens NEED for WARM CLOTHING. As winter approaches, The need is for warm clothing as Minnesota winter arrives – much colder than the immigrants’ homeland in Africa. Please pass the word around to anyone you know who may have children’s sweaters, pants, jackets, hats, mittens, scarves, snowsuits, or boots (infant through 12 years) to share. Adult coats and winter clothing are also needed,

The group has an office at the church. More information is available by calling 651-230-8957 or 651-239-7581.
